PRACTICE: Mind, Body, Spirit, which is crying out for attention? Write and execute one intentional step to address the cry.
My household is one those prehistoric places. I still have a landline telephone, upgraded and I do have caller identification. I get a lot of calls daily, which go unanswered because I don’t recognize the number and I never listen to voicemail. I have missed some important calls using this system, but I continue this practice because more than likely, it is a Robo call or someone that I am going to hang up on anyway. This is how I really feel – if someone is calling the home number, they probably do not know me personally. if they know me, they will call my cell phone. I keep the land line for emergencies…don’t judge!
Sometimes we adopt a similar practice around the call (purpose/urges) in our lives. We recognize that many of them are bogus, that they require something that we are unwilling to give etc. so we ignore them, or we listen for a brief period and disengage…the diet plan that promises a 10 to 20 lbs. weight loss in 30 days without exercise or engaging in a conversation with a friend about an ongoing problem which they are unwilling to address. And yes, we may miss an opportunity to be of service sometimes. BUT, I have come to recognize if the call is meant to be answered by me it will persist and come to, figuratively speaking, my cell phone.
This principle applied to your true self – mind, body and spirit – is called discernment. If your mind is cluttered and you can’t remember to do the basics – declutter is calling – answer it - sit down – organize your thoughts, make a list. Whatever you need to do – do it. If your body aches or you can’t tie your shoes or lift your arm – the body is calling – answer it – see the doctor - get off the couch -stretch- do what you must do to get your body in order. If you are not feeling like “yourself” and can’t pinpoint the dis-ease, the spirit – the inner you is calling – answer it. Take some time to look inward and ask what and why about the dis- ease.
Your mind, body and spirit are your open road to living a well-balanced life. When they call, do yourself a big favor – ANSWER! The rewards are amazing.

PONDER THIS THOUGHT – How do I know when to answer a call or let it go to voice mail?
